Recently acquired former Pro Bowl wide receiver Demaryius Thomas got his first shot against his former team right out of the gate with his tenure with the Houston Texans on Sunday afternoon.
It saw the Texans squeeze by for their sixth straight win 19-17, which gave Thomas a bittersweet moment facing the Broncos where he spent the first eight-plus seasons of his career. Following the game, the 30-year-old decided to throw some shade at his former team for their lack of success on the field over the last few years, according to Michael Silver of NFL.com.

It wasn't a dominating debut outing by any means for Thomas, but he made three catches on three targets for 61 receiving yards, which included a 31-yard reception. It has set the tone for what he can bring to the table after he gets a better understanding of the playbook and stronger connection with second-year quarterback Deshaun Watson as the two work more in practice and during the game.
The addition of Thomas could add yet another explosive option to the passing game to pair him alongside Pro Bowl wideout DeAndre Hopkins. It has the chance to take their passing attack to the next level with them leading the charge for what could be a highly dependable duo that may provide another element to the mix.
It was a tenure with Denver that came to a close much sooner than Thomas had originally anticipated, but this change of scenery this season has opened up the chance for him to compete for the playoffs and possibly much further than that. This was simply a strong start out of the gate to get one up on his former team in the process.
