Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson was sacked a league-high 62 times this past season, so, obviously, he was probably hoping for some better protection heading into 2019.

The Texans have tried to address that issue this offseason, taking offensive linemen Tytus Howard and Max Scharping in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft.

Watson is happy about Houston making an effort to improve the offensive line and feels good about the front office's decision-making.

“We just find ways to get better,” Watson said, according to Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle. “The front office knows exactly what they want, what they want to do with the organization and what we need to do to try to take that next step. I knew exactly what they were going to do in the draft, and what they want to do in the future.

“We drafted two young guys who can come in and compete and love football and want to come in and learn,” Watson said of Howard and Scharping. “They're going to have an opportunity to come in and learn from the veteran guys and continue to try to make us better.”

The Texans won 11 games and captured the AFC South division title this past year, but they ultimately fell to the Indianapolis Cols in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
