The Houston Texans continue to have nothing but fogginess surrounding the quarterback position on their team. Deshaun Watson continues to deal with sexual assault allegations off the field, first and foremost. From a football perspective, it puts his availability both in 2021 and moving forward in jeopardy.
Still, the Texans are trying to balance what to do with Watson as it pertains to hanging on to him or sending him to another squad via trade. According to Charles Robinson of Yahoo, Houston is going back and forth on their thoughts.
On Deshaun Watson: #Texans have not given up on him being their QB this year. They’re not taking lowball offers. This is why they aren’t being overly communicative with teams. Barring a strong offer, Texans brass will to try to get him back into the fold before the season begins.

While the Texans aren't taking “lowball offers” and rightfully so, they may not be dealing from a point of complete leverage given the sexual assault allegations.
Watson did return to practice on Monday for the Texans although he remained on the sidelines. It has led many to speculate on one side or the other of what could potentially happen with the Houston quarterback and his future with the franchise.

Watson will never play another down for the Texans.

With Watson back at practice the speculation has only been fueled despite him not actually taking reps for the Texans. Whatever Houston ends up doing and how the NFL responds is anyone's guess at this point.
The NFL has yet to respond to what's going on off the field with Watson and they might be waiting for more developments and the case to be carried forward against the Texans' quarterback.
