Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson thinks it's “very cool” to be part of the next generation of quarterbacks that are the future of the league. With Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Ben Roethlisberger, and Drew Brees getting older, a new generation of quarterbacks like Watson and Lamar Jackson are moving in.

Watson knows there is a lot of pressure with the younger guys to continue the legacy of some of the older guys, but he is ready for everything that comes with that.

“It's good to have the generation that's behind legendary Hall-of-Fame quarterbacks like Tom (Brady), (Drew) Brees, Aaron (Rogers), Ben (Roethlisberger), (Philip) Rivers, all of those guys,” Watson said via NFL.com. “Who knows how long they're going to continue to play and continue to be around. So, you want that next generation to continue to have this league, and have the NFL, very exciting and have a lot of good teams and a lot of points being scored. It's encouraging. It's very cool to be a part of that.”

The young Texans star also has taken notice of how the next generation of NFL quarterbacks features many African-American players and that is something that excites him.

“It's good. Definitely not the norm, I guess you can say,” Watson said. “It's awesome to be a part of it and be one of those guys. It's something that we take pride in and continue to change that narrative and just continue to do it the right way.”

Two of those quarterbacks, Watson and Lamar Jackson go head to head on Sunday, and it's a match that everyone seems to be excited for. The future of the NFL is going to be on full display.
