There was some uncertainty surrounding Adam Vinatieri's future with the Indianapolis Colts after a disappointing Week 2 performance. The veteran kicker came back in Week 3 and was his vintage self on Sunday.
Following his team's victory over the Atlanta Falcons, Vinatieri reacted to connecting on all of his kicks.
“Right, wrong or indifferent, you probably put a little more pressure on yourself,” Vinatieri said, via Bob Kravitz of The Athletic. “Coming off the week we did, I tried not to think about it and just focus in.”
In the first two weeks of the season, Vinatieri missed two of his three field-goal attempts for the Colts. At the same time, he also missed three extra-point tries as Indianapolis was sitting at 1-1.

Along with his field goals, the Colts kicker was able to connect on both of his extra-point attempts. The fans in Indianapolis and the players on the team were in support of him as he got out of his funk to begin the season.
“He proved everybody wrong,” tight end Eric Ebron said. “Now everybody can shut the hell up about it and let him do his thing. He’s been doing this for 20-something years, more than most people have been alive talking about him. Let him do his thing. We trust in him. Case closed.”
Vinatieri turns 47-years-old in December, so you begin to wonder if this is the last season for the Hall-of-Fame kicker. Nonetheless, he will look to continue his kicking success in Week 4 against the Oakland Raiders.
