For the second week in a row, the Indianapolis Colts targeted Andrew Luck with a pass, but after making the catch the star quarterback made it clear he thinks he is retiring from pass catching. Last week the Colts ran the “Philly Special,” but Eric Ebron just overthrew Luck and it resulted in an incompletion.

In the fourth quarter of Sunday's victory over the Miami Dolphins, Jacoby Brissett took the snap and threw it out wide to Luck who caught the ball and got a first down. On the play, he did take a pretty good shot, and that might have played into his comments after the game.

“I thought I was (retired), now I am,” Luck said, then stopped for a beat via the Indy Star. “I think I am.”

The initial concern was the shoulder injury that forced him to miss last season, but Luck didn't even think about it after the hit.

“I’ll be honest, I didn’t think about my shoulder until I walked into the training room and they asked, ‘Hey, is your shoulder good, Andrew?’” Luck said. “I was like, ‘Yeah, it feels great.'”

Colts coach Frank Reich was happy with how the play turned out, but admits that is was a risky play to run because of the chance of injury.

“I thought, ‘If he gets hurt on this play, you guys (the media) are going to kill me,’” Reich said.

The Colts currently have a 6-5 record and have put themselves in good position for a playoff spot. Their next two games are against the AFC South and will go a long way in deciding if this team will make it into the playoffs.
