In the weeks ahead of the start of the regular season, Indianapolis Colts star quarterback has been working his way back into form after what's been a grueling road to recovery from a surgically-repaired right shoulder.

It appears that he has been hindered a little bit by what's being deemed a “minor” foot injury that he has recently suffered, according to Mike Chappell of CBS 4.

“No big deal,’’ Frank Reich said, adding Luck would play if the Colts had a game that mattered Sunday. “Just a little minor (injury).’’

The fact that the team isn't too concerned about the situation should be telling of the severity of the injury. It is something that shouldn't put her status for the season opener in danger by any means but may see him sit for the preseason finale in order to have him healthy on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Luck has been working through his rust in the preseason that has seen him play in all three of the games where he has completed 20 of 32 passes for 204 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Aside from the interception thrown in the red zone against the Baltimore Ravens, the 28-year-old has looked quite well on the field on his throws that haven't seen any less arm strength or accuracy. Instead, he has shown flashes of his former self prior to the surgery that is quite promising in its own right for the team.

There is still plenty of time for him to get physically prepared for the upcoming season as the Colts are counting on him to lead the charge offensively while helping them get back into playoff contention. Indianapolis has missed the playoffs in each of the last three seasons that seen them win no greater than eight games any of those campaigns.
