The return of Andrew Luck was an exciting one for the Indianapolis Colts last season. Now, the Colts have gotten their training camp for 2019 underway with Luck being present.

According to Mike Chappell, a Colts beat writer, Andrew Luck is being eased into training camp. Luck went through some individual drills but didn't do anything with the team.

Of course, Luck returned to the Colts in 2018 after missing the entire 2017 season with a shoulder injury. The injury caused enough concern that doctors didn't know if he'd ever fully heal from it.

By the just the way he played last year, it's safe to say he is fully healed or close to it. In 2018, Luck threw for 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. All of those numbers landed him the NFL's Comeback Player of the Year Award.

In addition to his impressive stats, Luck helped lead the Colts to the playoffs. They would beat the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card round but would have their season come to an end by the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite the loss, it was absolutely a successful season for Frank Reich in his first season as head coach.

Protecting Luck became a primary focus of the Colts beginning last offseason. The team drafted Quenton Nelson and Braden Smith in the first two rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft. They also signed Mark Glowinski from the Seattle Seahawks.

As a result of their new-look offensive line, Luck was only sacked 18 times which is by far the lowest in his career (when he plays more than 15 games). Making sure Luck remains healthy will be a constant goal for the Colts moving forward; thus, why the Colts are cautious with Luck to start training camp.
