The Indianapolis Colts made a huge offseason splash when they acquired former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick. The move replaces NFL Legend Philip Rivers, wh spent one season with the Colts and then retired promptly after the season ended.
Now, the Colts are looking to add some talent around Wentz, especially on the offensive line, where Wentz had a rather rough time during his tenure with the Eagles. The Colts signed former Chargers left tackle Sam Tevi, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network to help shore up the line for Wentz.

During Wentz’s tenure in Philly, he was sacked a fairly staggering 179 times, and his lowest amount of sacks was 28, which is still a pretty high number. That number of sacks over that time frame has put him 20th among active players. Which is a fairly shocking statistic considering he's only been in the league for five years.
Last season, he led the league with a whopping 50 sacks and in interceptions, which was by far his worst in the NFL. A double-whammy of ineptitude that Philly fans were happy to see the backside of.
Now, the Colts are hoping that the 28-year-old Wentz will return to the form that helped lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl-winning season in 2017. Of course, it was veteran Nick Foles that helped close the door on the New England Patriots that year and not an injured Wentz.
Wentz will have big shoes to fill next season with Rivers gone, but with a stable left tackle like Tevi backing him up and the All-Pro Quenton Nelson, the Colts are setting him up for success.
