The Indianapolis Colts were heading into today's matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the favorite to pick up the win and improve to 6-2 on the year. Unfortunately, that did not end up being the case and their quarterback, Jacoby Brissett, went down early in the game with a knee injury. He was unable to return to the game.

With all of the things the Colts were facing this week, they were unable to pull out the win. Pittsburgh ended up taking the game by a final score of 26-24 after a missed field goal from Adam Vinatieri late in the game.

More details have been revealed about the injury following the game and it appears that Brissett is likely suffering from a knee sprain related to his MCL.

Brissett has had a great season after taking over as the Colts' franchise quarterback when Andrew Luck decided to retire. He has helped lead the Colts to contention and if he is forced to miss time, the team is going to miss him in a big way.

Brian Hoyer came into the game against the Steelers and completed 17 of his 26 pass attempts for 168 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He is a capable backup, but the Colts need to hope that their starter isn't forced to miss any significant amount of time.

Expect to hear more details about a potential timetable in the near future. For now, the Colts don't seem to be too terribly worried about him long-term.
