The Los Angeles Chargers have chosen to move on from Philip Rivers and that has led one of his former teammates to share where he lands in 2020. Ahead of his own impending free agency, Melvin Gordon predicts that Rivers will end up with the Indianapolis Colts.

Gordon's reasoning for Rivers choosing the Colts is due to his connection with Nick Sirianni—the Colts offensive coordinator. Sirianni has spent the last two seasons as the offensive coordinator in Indianapolis.
Prior to joining the Colts, Sirianni spent 2013-2017 as the-then San Diego Chargers quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach. Given that, Rivers has experience working with Sirianni and understands his offensive ideologies.
When the 2019 season came to a close, Colts GM Chris Ballard was non-committal on saying that Jacoby Brissett was going to be the starting quarterback in 2020. In other words, the Colts are prepared to explore other options at the quarterback position next season.
Article Continues BelowEven though Brissett will remain on the roster, Indianapolis is likely going to add someone else to the roster. It remains to be seen whether the Colts choose to go through the draft or free agency to address the position.
Gordon, who is also a free agent, has spent the past five seasons with Rivers. Therefore, he could have a little insight on what the veteran signal-caller is thinking about in free agency.
As a matter of fact, Gordon isn't the only one that has predicted Rivers to the Colts. Earlier this week, Pro Football Focus shared that they believe that Rivers will wind up in Indianapolis.
Despite the predictions, it's unlikely that Rivers has made an official decision of where he is going to play next season.
