Before the 2020 season gets going, one of the Indianapolis Colts' major offensive pieces already took a hit. Four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver TY Hilton recently went down with a mild hamstring injury. Although there was no final ruling on the severity of the injury, the situation is clearly something to keep an eye on.

The Athletic's Zak Keefer reported the news about the veteran's situation on Twitter:

The Florida International University product was drafted by the Colts with the 92nd pick in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. After concluding his rookie campaign with a total of 861 receiving yards, he eventually took over the top receiver role from veteran Reggie Wayne.

His formidable chemistry with former Colts playmaker Andrew Luck paved the way for him to catch over 1,000 yards in four straight seasons. He also led the league in total receiving yards back in 2016.

Heading into his ninth campaign with the team, he has already established himself as a reliable offensive target. He accounted for a total of 8,598 receiving yards on 552 receptions and scored 45 receiving touchdowns in his career thus far.

His numbers took a dip last season as he failed to break the 1,000 receiving-yard tally, which he accomplished back in 2018. He finished the 2019 season with 45 receptions for 501 receiving yards and five receiving touchdowns.

Hilton was expected to enter the 2020 season with a new-look Colts team. The club opted to have a change in scenery as they acquired long-time Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers to lead the team. They also added some young talent in former USC Trojan Michael Pittman Jr., Wisconsin Badger Jonathan Taylor, and Washington Husky Jacob Eason. The team also reeled in a game-changer in former San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.

With the roster movements made during the offseason, the Colts hope to overtake their division rivals and eventually come out on top of a tight AFC South competition. The first challenge to their 2020 campaign will be the Jacksonville Jaguars, with the game scheduled on September 13 at the TIAA Bank Field.
