The Indianapolis Colts are set to face off against Houston Texans in Week 7 and the winner of the matchup will greatly strengthen their odds of winning the AFC South.
During the Colts' impressive 19-13 win over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, Jacoby Brissett went 18-of-29 (62.1 percent) on his throws for 151 yards with an interception. He added a rushing touchdown along with nine yards on six carries. Those numbers don't jump off the page but they proved to be enough for a win against a tough opponent.
One potential concern for the Colts is that Deshaun Watson and the Texans have a lot of momentum heading into Sunday's game. They are coming off a 31-24 road win over the Chiefs despite Mahomes throwing for 273 yards and three touchdowns. A strong individual display from Brissett seems necessary for the Colts.
Here are three bold predictions about Brissett ahead of the Colts' matchup with the Texans.
3. Brissett will throw at least three touchdowns
There have been two games so far this season when Brissett has managed to finish with at least three touchdown passes. With the Texans allowing opposing quarterbacks to throw for three touchdowns each over their last two games, Brissett could make it three games in a row.
It seems that Brissett is due for a big performance at some point. Coming off a bye week, it seems that a big matchup could be when that happens with at least three touchdowns.
2. Brissett will throw for over 250 yards
A performance with over 250 yards passing does not sound bold for most quarterbacks. However, Brissett has managed to reach that figure in just two of his five starts this season and has thrown under 200 yards three times.
The Texans are a matchup where Brissett could look to move the ball up the field through the air more than he has in previous displays. The Texans have allowed 1,608 total passing yards this season compared to 1,542 passing yards of their own.
Brissett will throw for over 250 yards against the Texans and the Colts may need every inch of that to defeat their division rival.
1. Brissett will lead the Colts to a win
The way that the Colts have played this season has left fans on the edges of their seats, whether it was during a win or a loss. For reference, they have won three games by a combined margin of 11 points and were within one possession during both of their losses.
A matchup with the Texans could very well end up following similar lines but with the Colts' proving to finish in close games, they will get it done again on Sunday.
