When Andrew Luck shocked the football world by announcing his retirement this past Saturday, it rubbed some people the wrong way.
Indianapolis Colts fans in attendance at the team's third preseason game on Saturday booed Luck as he walked off of the field at the end of the contest, and some have questioned the timing of Luck's decision.
Count former NFL quarterback Steve Beuerlein among those who have a problem with the way Luck went about his retirement.
Beuerlein, who made a Pro Bowl with the Carolina Panthers in 1999, took to Twitter on Sunday to post his thoughts about Luck, and while he said he is a fan of him, he said it was “not right” for Luck to retire just two weeks before the start of the regular season.

Of course, Beuerlein is entitled to his opinion, and he himself had 19 years surgeries as a player, but he seems to be a bit out of line here.
It's fine to disagree with Luck's decision, but to publicly rip him for retiring seems pretty wrong, especially if Luck lost his passion for the game, as he said he did in his retirement press conference.
Yes, Luck's decision was sudden, and it will adversely affect the Colts going into this season, but if he wasn't feeling right physically or mentally, then it's completely understandable that he would want to walk away.
