The Jacksonville Jaguars have made a quarterback change heading into Week 17 against the Houston Texans. The quarterback change is not such a shock, and former starter Blake Bortles will get another chance this Sunday.

Bortles started 11 games for the Jaguars this season before losing his starting job to backup Cody Kessler ahead of Week 13's matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Kessler was equally as disappointing as Bortles, but the Jags have decided to go back to Bortles after Kessler's underwhelming performance as the team's starting quarterback.
Article Continues BelowBortles has left a lot to be desired as a starting quarterback and has struggled mightily this season with 2,611 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 1o touchdowns across 11 games in the 2018 campaign. Bortles has a career total of 103 touchdowns and 74 interceptions and there's no secret with those numbers things could be a lot better. Bortles is approaching his sixth season, and it's likely he will not be a starter wherever he ends up playing next season.
The former UCF star has never been able to live up to the expectations that came with him being drafted 3rd overall back in 2014. Bortles had a solid season back in 2015 and has never been able to eclipse 4,000 yards since. Even though the Jags made the AFC Championship last season against the New England Patriots, the success was hardly in part to Bortles rather the number one ranked defense. The Jags have some decisions to make going forward, but the signs are obvious that the Jags may be heading in a different direction altogether regarding a starting quarterback.
