The Jacksonville Jaguars have plenty riding on the shoulders of rookie running back Leonard Fournette heading into his first season.

However, it appears the Jaguars are now treading a bit little lightly with their prized first-round pick as Michael DiRocco of ESPN is reporting that he is currently dealing with a foot injury that put him out Sunday's practice.

The decision to sit Fournette came after head coach Doug Marrone was informed that he had been complaining of soreness. This marked the first practice that the 22-year-old has missed this entire offseason. There is no anticipation that this injury could linger as Jacksonville is taking the precautionary route with the situation.

It comes just a few days after a strong showing in the Jaguar's 31-24 preseason win over the New England Patriots on Thursday night where he rushed for 31 yards on nine carries with a touchdown. However, Fournette made headlines after the game when he stated that NFL game is much easier than he had originally anticipated.

He is coming off quite a successful collegiate career where he rushed for 3,830 and 40 touchdowns while earning consensus All-American honors, a First-Team All-SEC selection, and a Second-Team All-SEC nods. Fournette is expected to take on a huge role in his rookie campaign with the Jaguars as likely their starting running back.
