It has been a stellar season for the Jacksonville Jaguars despite all the negative coverage the team received prior to the year. There were even doubts about this team's legitimacy as a playoff contender en route to winning their first AFC South title in a decade.

That said, the Jaguars have every reason to take things easy in Week 17 versus the Tennesee Titans with the playoffs swiftly approaching and the number three seed locked down. However, head coach Doug Marrone is adamant that the Jaguars will try and win their season finale by any means possible against the division rival Tennessee Titans, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union:

“Make no mistake about it so there’s not a lot of talk about it during the week: We’re going to play to win and we’re going to do everything possible to win this game, period,” Marrone said. “I’m not even thinking about what happens beyond that. That’s the way we’re going to go about our business this week.”

Marrone's comments may come as a bit of a surprise considering the lack of implications involved with winning this game. However, it seems he would like to keep his team as sharp as possible for whoever it is they meet in the postseason.

If the Jaguars win, the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers' chances of making the postseason dramatically improve. If the Titans lose, the Bills get in if they win and the Chargers lose, or if the Baltimore Ravens lose. The Chargers get in if they win and the Ravens win or the Bills lose.

It will be interesting to see to what degree Marrone is willing to achieve the Jaguars' best record since the 2007 NFL season.
