After trading away Tyreek Hill, the Kansas City Chiefs suddenly have two selections in the 2022 NFL Draft. They have the 29th pick overall and have a chance to bring in a talented prospect to help the team. We'll see how it plays out, but we should expect the front office to take a defensive player or a wide receiver in the first round.

The Chiefs could use some help on the defensive line and there are plenty of edge rushers that will be available 29th overall. Another route could be a safety, as Kansas City needs to find a competent replacement for Tyrann Mathieu. This franchise can't go wrong either way.

On the other hand, the Chiefs could use their first pick on a rookie wide receiver. Juju Smith-Schuster is in line to take over as the second pass option behind Travis Kelce. However, Kansas City could give themselves a solid target for Patrick Mahomes.

With that said, here are the three best options for the Chiefs' 29th overall selection for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Chiefs 2022 NFL Draft

3. Jermain Johnson II (edge)

This draft class is insanely deep with edge rushers, which is great news for Kansas City. Jermain Johnson II is a legitimate threat to opposing quarterbacks and would elevate the Chiefs' defense immediately. Considering how stacked the AFC West is right now, taking Johnson II would be a brilliant move for this franchise.

At 6-5, 254 pounds, Jermain Johnson II is roughly the same size as Kayvon Thibodeaux. He's not at the same level but Johnson II has great potential to be a threat in the NFL. The Chiefs could hit a home run with the 29th pick in the NFL Draft, which would help this franchise moving forward.

2. Jaquan Brisker (S)

It's hard to replace Tyrann Mathieu, but the Chiefs must find someone capable of playing the position. Jaquan Brisker excels in run support, as he's been a natural run-stopper throughout his career. He'd be a perfect fit for Kansas City and he should be competing for a starting spot if selected 29th overall.

The Chiefs could be in trouble this year with the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos, and Las Vegas Raiders loading up on offense. If Kansas City hopes to compete, they should highly consider selecting Jaquan Brisker if he's available at 29 overall. He has the potential to be a consistent starter for years, which is exactly what this franchise needs.

1. Jahan Dotson (WR)

There are multiple prospect receivers in the draft class this year who could become the next big star in the league. Jahan Dotson has turned heads throughout the offseason after dominating in the NFL Combine. His game film is impressive as well and he seems like a safe bet to be taken in the late first-round or early second round. If he's available at 29 overall, the Chiefs should consider bringing him to Kansas City.

Dotson isn't the biggest receiver, but he has a similar skillset as Tyreek Hill. He's fast, has strong hands, and is dangerous after the catch. He may need some time to develop, but with Patrick Mahomes under center, Jahan Dotson should turn into a consistent starter sooner, rather than later.
