Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justyn Ross was arrested in Kansas Monday afternoon for misdemeanor domestic battery and what was believed to be felony property damage (later downgraded to misdemeanor).

According to the Booking and Release Report of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Ross was been slapped with a level 7 felony charge in relation to a criminal damage exceeding $25,000. This was ultimately amended to less than $1,000 in property damages. No further details about the full incident were revealed and have been reported.

No bond has been set for Ross. The 23-year-old wideout is set to appear in court on Tuesday. For their part,  the Chiefs are reportedly aware of Ross' arrest but refused to comment on the matter, per ESPN.

Justyn Ross is in his second year in the NFL after joining the Chiefs in 2022 as an undrafted wide receiver out of Clemson. He spent the whole 2022 campaign on the injured reserve, but he was able to land a spot on the team's 53-man roster this campaign.

Ross has played in all seven Chiefs games so far this season, tallying three receptions for 34 yards.

The former Tigers wideout is popular in Clemson, though, as he was a big part of the team's college football national championship win for the 2018 season–his freshman year. During the campaign, he caught 46 passes caught 46 passes for 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns.

More details on his arrest are expected to come out. Sure enough, though, it's certainly a concerning turn for the young wideout who's looking to establish himself in the league and get a more prominent role with the Kansas City franchise.

Ross and his camp have yet to address the arrest. We will stay updated as more information come out.
