Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has already reached multiple notable achievements in his playoff career, and he could be in line to make history once again in the 2022 AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kelce was a standout performer in the Chiefs’ thrilling AFC divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills, as he hauled in eight receptions for 96 receiving yards and one touchdown. The receiving touchdown wound up sending the Chiefs to the AFC title game, as he connected with quarterback Patrick Mahomes for the crucial 8-yard score in the overtime period.

Overall, Kelce is a mere four receptions away from notching 100 catches in the playoffs, which would see him join Hall of Fame wideout Jerry Rice (151) and former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman (118) as the only players ever to reach this feat.

There is a possibility that Kelce could finish his career as the all-time leader in playoff catches by a tight end, especially as there has been uncertainty as to whether Rob Gronkowski (98 catches) will opt to retire in the upcoming offseason.

In the big picture, this potential feat for Kelce sure is quite impressive considering that the likes of Hall of Fame tight ends Shannon Sharpe (62) and Tony Gonzalez (30) did not come close to reaching 100 playoff receptions.

Kelce simply continues to build on his already stout Pro Football Hall of Fame resume.
