The Kansas City Chiefs lost another key talent from their Super Bowl 54-winning team, as they opted to trade wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday.
Hill was a vital contributor to the Chiefs over the 2019 season, as he recorded 58 receptions for 860 receiving yards. He continued to form keen chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs, which included his 105 receiving yards performance against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54.
Out of Mahomes’ top-five wideout options in the 2019 campaign, Mecole Hardman is now the lone such player still on the team. Just over the past couple of years, Hill (Dolphins), Demarcus Robinson (Raiders), Byron Pringle (Bears) and Sammy Watkins (current free agent) all departed from the team.
Hardman took to Instagram to simply reflect on the end of an era for the Chiefs.

Hardman is set to at the least have a golden opportunity to emerge as Mahomes’ top wide receiver option for the 2022 campaign. He is coming off of a season where he posted career highs across the board, including in receiving yards (693) and receptions (59).
Hardman will be accompanied by the likes of free agent signings JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling at the wideout position for Kansas City next season.
