Patrick Mahomes has cemented himself as one of the faces of the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs in his first three seasons in the NFL. As a result of his success thus far, Mahomes is scheduled to give the commencement address at Texas Tech.
We’ve got the MVP of commencement speakers next Saturday. 😉

Just this past season, Mahomes was able to lead the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl victory since 1969. In just the past two seasons, Mahomes has combined for 9,128 passing yards, 76 touchdowns, and just 17 interceptions.
On the other hand, he's also been selected to two Pro Bowls, is a one-time All-Pro, and won the NFL's MVP Award in 2018. But before he was an All-Pro quarterback in the NFL, Mahomes was a quarterback at Texas Tech.
Similar to what he's done in the NFL, Mahomes compiled some gaudy numbers while he attended Texas Tech in college. To finish his collegiate career, Mahomes threw for 5,052 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 2016.
Following his final season at Texas Tech, Mahomes was selected by the Chiefs with the No. 10 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Undoubtedly, the Texas Tech product has exceeded his expectations in his short time in Kansas City. Not many people can say they've won a Super Bowl, let alone in their third season.
Even though colleges aren't able to conduct usual graduation ceremonies, Texas Tech is choosing to have Mahomes bring some normalcy to the students that are graduating during these unusual circumstances. Without a doubt, it's safe to say that Mahomes has made Texas Tech proud of what he's done in the NFL thus far.
