For the past six seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Antonio Brown has been the definition of legendary. Now, he trades in his Steelers jersey for the black and silver ones of the Oakland Raiders.
At the conclusion of last season, Brown had a fallout with Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers organization. This caused the All-Pro wideout to request a trade from the team. Pittsburgh approved of his request and shipped him to the Raiders.
Brown is now paired with Derek Carr, who is trying to get back on track after struggling for the past two seasons. Part of that can be credited to the lack of help he was given on the offense but this season, there are no excuses.
Along with Brown, Oakland added Tyrell Williams, J.J. Nelson, and Hunter Renfrow to their receiving corp. The expectations are sky-high for this group with the addition of Brown. After all, even at 30-years old, he is considered one of the best receivers in the NFL.
The former Steelers wide receiver is hoping to copy his production in Pittsburgh and paste it in Oakland. The numbers that Brown has put up over the years are unfathomable. In 2019, there will be a few numbers that Brown will set for himself for the season.
3. 105 Receptions
Again, the stats that Brown has managed to put up over the last six seasons is something you'd see in a video game. In the last six seasons, the Raiders wide receiver has averaged 114 receptions.
This season, things could be slightly different for Brown in Oakland than it was in Pittsburgh. First off, Brown will be catching passes with Carr instead of Roethlisberger. Roethlisberger is the better quarterback but that doesn't mean that Carr isn't going to play well with Brown in 2019.
The Raiders also added a few other weapons in the passing game which could lead to a few targets being taken away from the Pro-Bowl receiver. Over the past six years, Brown has been Roethlisberger's go-to guy in the offense.
As a result, Brown saw an average of 171 targets in every season over the past six years. That number will likely drop a bit with the Raiders. Therefore, 105 receptions is a number that is absolutely possible for the new Raiders wideout.
2. 1,300 Receiving Yards
Making plays is in Brown's job description and that won't change just because he is sporting a new jersey in 2019. Brown has amassed 11,207 receiving yards in his career so far and isn't slowing down anytime soon.
Article Continues BelowAgain, we'll use the past six seasons as an example of how many yards the Raiders pass catcher can get in 2019. In the last six seasons in the NFL, Brown has racked up an average of 1,524 yards through the air in every season.
Coupled with his 114 receptions per year, it goes without saying that Brown was an endless supply of big plays for the Steelers. Now, the Raiders are glad to have that type of firepower on their offense moving forward.
Yards shouldn't be hard to come by for Brown in 2019 with the receiver being the top receiver on the roster. Brown is coming off of a season where he had 1,297 receiving yards but it isn't crazy to think that he won't surpass that in the upcoming season.
1. 10 Touchdowns
Touchdowns, touchdowns, and even more touchdowns have been part of Brown's mantra in the past six seasons. In his first three seasons in the NFL, Brown had just seven touchdowns combined with the Steelers.
Since then, there hasn't been one season where the Raiders receiver hasn't had more than seven touchdowns. Furthermore, over the past six seasons, Brown has gotten into the end zone an average of 11 times every season.
Carr is hoping he can continue that trend by getting the ball to Brown in scoring situations. All Carr has to do is put the ball anywhere in Brown's vicinity and there's a good chance he's coming down with it.
The Raiders offense is in dire need of some help with scoring after ranking 24th in the NFL in passing touchdowns in 2018 with 19. It's hard to believe that number doesn't drastically change in 2019 for Oakland.
If Brown can bring similar production that he had in Pittsburgh to Oakland, then as Brown would say: Business is Boomin' for the Raiders.
