Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown lost his helmet grievance case against the NFL on Monday. Afterward, Brown took to Twitter to share his thoughts:

Brown had threatened to step away from the game if the NFL did not allow him to continue wearing his old helmet, which is now banned. It is no longer certified by the NOCSAE. Yet, it appears that he is going to rejoin his teammates.

The 31-year-old has certainly had a tumultuous offseason, to say the least.

The controversy began after the 2018 campaign ended, when Antonio Brown asked the Pittsburgh Steelers for a trade. The Steelers granted his request, sending him to the Raiders for a third-round draft pick and a fifth-rounder.

Antonio Brown took part in Oakland's offseason workouts and then showed up to training camp on time last month, arriving in Napa Valley via hot air balloon. He was then immediately placed on the non-football injury list, but was taken off the list under 48 hours later. He practiced with the team.

However, Brown only partially participated and has not practiced since. It was initially thought to be due to the fact that Brown sustained frostbite on his feet after spending time in a cryotherapy chamber without wearing the proper footwear, but it turned out that Brown's absence had just as much, if not more, to do with his helmet situation.

A seven-time Pro Bowler, Antonio Brown is coming off a 2018 season in which he hauled in 104 receptions for 1,297 yards and a league-leading 15 touchdowns.
