The Oakland Raiders will be forced to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos in 2019-20. However, and luckily for Oakland, the Raiders will now attempt to do so with the tandem of quarterback Derek Carr and wide receiver Antonio Brown leading the way.

As a result, Brown knows just how important his relationship with Carr will be — both on and off the field.

“It’s tremendously important to have a relationship off the field because playing football you get mentally tired, you get frustrated, you always want to have that respect for the guy to know where he’s coming from, know what he stands for and know what’s important to him so you guys can be on the same page, and do what you desire to do — and you desire to win,” Brown recently said, via NBC Sports' Pro Football Talk.

Of course, the Raiders infamously managed to acquire Brown via trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the offseason. With a rocky past following him to Oakland after a tumultuous ending in Pittsburgh, the former Steelers standout will certainly help the Raiders going forward as his immense talent simply cannot be denied at this point in his NFL career.

It is also worth noting that it once appeared as though Carr was no longer in the immediate plans in Oakland as the Raiders picked at No. 4 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. Even so, Carr ultimately stayed put with Oakland turning its focus toward the defensive side of the football early on in the first round.
