In spite of an earlier report that stated Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown had gone “radio silent” on the team, the Raiders have apparently spoken to Brown, because a team official has said that they are expected him to report back to training camp soon, according to Michael Gehlken of The Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Brown arrived to training camp on time when it first opened late last month, showing up in Napa Valley via hot air balloon. However, he was immediately placed on the non-football injury list.

He was on the list for less than 48 hours before returning to practice, but he only partially participated and has not practiced since as a result of a foot issue.

Brown apparently sustained frostbite on his feet as a result of spending some time in a cryotherapy chamber in France without wearing the proper footwear, which is what has kept him sidelined.

While there is currently no exact timetable for his return, it seems that Oakland is expecting Brown back rather soon. The Raiders' next practice is on Monday, two days after they open up their preseason against the Los Angeles Rams.

Oakland acquired Brown in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this offseason, sending a third-round draft pick and a fifth-rounder to the Steelers in exchange for his services.

Brown was part of a massive offseason makeover for the Raiders that also included free-agent signings such as Trent Brown, Tyrell Williams, Lamarcus Joyner, and Vontaze Burfict.

Oakland won just four games in 2018.
