Arguably no team in the NFL has been more disappointing this season than the Las Vegas Raiders, who currently sit at an abysmal 2-5 after last week's 31-0 demolition at the hands of the reigning AFC Champion and divisional rival Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders mercifully have a bye this weekend, during which time quarterback Geno Smith will try to regroup and figure out how to stop being the league leader in interceptions this year.

Recently, Raiders owner Mark Davis spoke on how he views the state of the team under head coach Pete Carroll, who was brought in this past offseason.

“It's a culture change and I'm giving it a chance and observing and seeing what's going on. It's early in the season,” said Davis, per Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL.com.

“It’s too early to be making these harsh reality decisions,” Davis added. “…“Results are what speak to me, and we’re in the middle of the season.”

Rapoport and Garofolo also reported on Davis' other team, the Las Vegas Aces, who recently won yet another WNBA Championship this season.

“Now, he hopes that the same model — hire the right people, let them do their jobs, trust the process — can translate to his beloved Raiders team led by Pete Carroll,” they reported.

Last year, the Las Vegas Raiders were among the worst teams in the NFL, but the hope was that this season, things would be different. In addition to hiring Pete Carroll to be the franchise's new head coach, the team also signed Geno Smith, fresh off of another strong season wtih the Seattle Seahawks, to be its new quarterback, replacing the Motley crew of players it had at that position over the last couple of seasons.

Needless to say, the Smith experiment has been a disaster so far, and the team overall has suffered mightily, despite continued alien-like play from star defensive lineman Maxx Crosby.

In any case, after the bye week, the Raiders will next take the field on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
