The Oakland Raiders have signed quarterback Nathan Peterman to a reserve/future contract, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Peterman spent two years with the Buffalo Bills but did not have any success.

This season, in four games and two starts, Peterman threw for 296 yards, one touchdown, and a whopping seven interceptions while completing just 54.3 percent of his passes and registering an abysmal passer rating of 30.7.

In 2017, Peterman also took the field four times and made two starts, finishing with a similar 252 yards, two scores, and five picks, completing a paltry 49 percent of his passes and recording a passer rating of 38.4.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Tennessee and the University of Pittsburgh, was originally selected by the Bills in the fifth round (171st pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He played two years at Tennessee and two years at Pittsburgh but did not actually receive playing time until transferring to Pitt in 2015. That season, Peterman threw for 2,287 yards, 20 touchdowns, and eight interceptions while completing 61.7 percent of his passes and tallying a passer rating of 139.

Then, during his final collegiate season with the Panthers, Peterman ended up with 2,855 yards, 27 scores, and seven picks, posting a completion percentage of 60.5 percent and compiling a passer rating of 163.4.

Obviously, his decent college numbers have not translated all that well in the pros thus far.

Whether or not Peterman will actually get a chance to quarterback the Raiders remains to be seen.

Oakland went 4-12 this season, its first year under head coach Jon Gruden.
