Los Angeles Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein was the hero of the NFC Championship Game against the New Orleans Saints two Sundays ago, first sending the game into overtime with a 48-yard field goal and then nailing the game-winning 57-yard boot in the extra session to send the Rams to the Super Bowl.

Here is what's crazy, though: Zuerlein did all of that with an injured foot on his plant leg.

The 31-year-old hurt his foot at halftime of that game after banging it into a steel plate in the Superdome turf while warming up.

However, Zuerlein, who did not practice at all last week, says he will practice this week and expects to be good to go for the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots:

“I’m feeling pretty good,” Zuerlein said, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. “I would say I’m almost there and will be ready to go on Sunday.”

The Rams begin practice with a walkthrough on Wednesday, and Zuerlein is adamant that he will be just fine:

“I will be kicking,” Zuerlein said. “One hundred percent. We’ll be right.”

Zuerlen did not tell Los Angeles coaches about his foot injury until after the NFC Championship Game and spent part of last week in a walking boot.

On the season, Zuerlein made 27 of his 31 field-goal attempts, going 4-of-6 from 50 yards or longer and making a 56-yarder during the regular season. Obviously, he topped that in the playoffs.

The 2017 Pro Bowler's career long boot, however, is 61 yards, which he did back in 2015.
