The hero of the NFC Championship Game continues to nurse an injury, but it looks like Greg Zuerlein should still be good to go.
According to the latest injury report released by both teams (via Pro Football Talk), Rams kicker Greg Zuerlein is still limited in practice thanks to a left foot injury. Fortunately for him and the team, Rams coach Sean McVay thinks that he’ll be good to go when it comes to Super Bowl Sunday.
“Greg Zuerlein kicked a little bit, and he’s on track,” McVay said, also noting that Rams safety Blake Countess (also out of practice with a foot injury) should be good to play as well. “And I believe Blake will be good, but we want to be smart with him earlier this week.”
Not only was Zuerlein the hero for the Rams in the NFC Championship Game, booting a 57-yard kick to send the Rams to the Super Bowl, but he has also been one of the best kickers in the league when fully healthy.

Throughout his career, Zuerlein has an 83.5 percent mark when it comes to making field goals, with a 97.4 percent mark on extra points.
Despite both teams featuring high octane offenses, the Patriots usually find themselves in closely contested Super Bowls, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see Super Bowl 53 come down to the wire, in which case the Rams could benefit from having a kicker like Zuerlein.
