For the second year in a row, the Los Angeles Rams managed to add a Pro Bowl-caliber wideout. However, unlike their first acquisition, the Rams made sure to keep wide receiver Brandin Cooks around for the long haul.
Needless to say, quarterback Jared Goff is excited about Cooks' signing. Goff is confident that he will make a solid addition to the receiving corps (Per the Turf Show Times):
There is good reason for Goff to be confident about his receiving corps. While he may be joining his third team in three years, Cooks is coming off three consecutive 1,000-yard campaigns. This gives Goff a bonafide No. 1 option on the outside. The fact that he is arguably the most explosive wideout in the league is just an added bonus.
Goff has already built a great rapport with wide receivers Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp during the 2017 campaign. They were the most productive pair of hands on the team during the 2017 NFL season. Woods enjoyed the best year of his career in his first season with the Rams. Meanwhile, Kupp established himself as one of the best wideouts in his draft class. That said, it is clear that Goff has high expectations for the Rams' passing game going into this season.
