Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has yet to throw a pass this NFL offseason after he received an offseason injection in his elbow for an injury he played through in the 2021 season. Back in May, Stafford had said that he was unsure when he would be able to begin throwing. On Wednesday, the Rams star revealed his status for training camp, which is coming up in July. Stafford said that he “definitely” expects to throw during NFL training camp. The Rams signal-caller also mentioned picking up for lost time with the team's pass-catchers, who have been unable to get onto the field with him yet.
That shouldn't be very worrying to Rams fans though. After all, Stafford authored one of the best seasons of his career this past season, doing so with a minor elbow issue.
Article Continues BelowWhile Stafford's chemistry with Cooper Kupp doesn't need any fine-tuning, he could certainly use the extra reps with newcomer Allen Robinson II, who arrived via free agency.
At any rate, the Rams will encourage Stafford to throw whenever he's fully healthy and ready to go, given the injuries he's dealt with in the past.
It appears that that will be sooner rather than later.
