Late in the second quarter of Sunday's Super Bowl between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals, Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. went down with an ugly non-contact injury that required him to be helped off of the field.

Per Tyler Dragon of USA Today, Beckham was helped off the field by the Rams training staff.

The injury sustained Sunday was to the same knee in which he tore his ACL in October of 2020 as a member of the Cleveland Browns. At the end of the play, Beckham fell down and clutched his knee after trying to catch a pass thrown behind him while crossing the field.

Beckham was on his way to a career-defining game, having already brought in two catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. All of this after a season littered with questions about the embattled wideout and the status of his career. Should Beckham be unable to return to the game, the number-two wide receiver duties will be relegated to some combination of Van Jefferson and Brandon Powell as they are already without veteran wide receiver Robert Woods.

Early reports from the Rams sideline are indicating that Beckham is questionable to return to the game and will be further evaluated during the extended halftime.

The Rams lead 13-10 at halftime and will be on defense to start the second half. Should the Bengals strike quick, the pressure will be on Matt Stafford and Cooper Kupp to answer with a depleted supporting cast against a Bengals defense that has played well through two quarters of football.

UPDATE: During the fourth quarter of the game, the Rams announced that Odell Beckham Jr. is officially OUT of the game. Brutal news for the team. (via Adam Schefter)
