Immediately after Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams won Super Bowl LVI on Sunday, the talk about Stafford shifted from “Can he win the big game?” to “Is he a Hall-of-Famer?” The opinions vary across the board depending on how you view modern quarterbacks against ones from the past. You have to take into account that this is a passing league now and the quarterback numbers are inflated. Still, with a Super Bowl title and all of the accolades that Stafford has gotten throughout his career, it is easy to see Stafford being inducted into the hall just as his former teammate Calvin Johnson was last summer. That doesn't mean that everyone feels that way, notably big-time Rams hater, Richard Sherman. The chatter has even made its way to Stafford's wife, Kelly, who came to her husband's defense on Tuesday by stating:

It went from Matthew can't win, to Matthew can't win against winning teams, to Matthew can't win big games, to Matthew can't win playoff games, to Matthew can't win it all…And now…the debate on the HOF? We shouldn't be talking about the HOF because he isn't done playing this game. If you don't believe he is a HOFer…I can't wait for him to prove you wrong in his remaining years!” – Kelly Stafford
She certainly doesn't want to hear any of that “retirement talk” regarding her husband and wants the Hall-of-Fame talk to be tabled until he is officially done playing. She knows that Matthew is stepping into perhaps the best part of his entire career now that he has won this ring with the Rams and by the time all is said and done, she may be right if he is indeed enshrined into Canton.
