Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay said that Von Miller did not participate in practice Wednesday and that he's still uncertain if he will play this week.
McVay had this to say about Miller,
“He'll do some limited work off to the side with [the training staff], just getting a feel for where his ankle is at. He hasn't been with us. Want to be smart, want to be able to ease him back in.”
The Rams acquired Miller in a blockbuster deal before the trade deadline with the Denver Broncos.
Luckily for the Rams, they're 7-1 on the season and obviously they want to win games, but they can be safe with some of their guys. Quarterback Matthew Stafford and receiver Robert Woods also did not practice on Wednesday.
Miller is still suffering the ankle injury that he got during the second quarter of a Week 7 contest against the Cleveland Browns. He did not play in week 8. Miller underwent a physical after he arrived in Los Angeles, he did pass the physical.
McVay said that Miller wants to play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans,
“Oh yeah, he's going to do everything in his power to try to play,” McVay said. “But I think there's an element of let's take it a day at a time and let's be smart, let's get a feel for how he's doing, but this guy is an elite competitor and he definitely wants to be able to do that.”
The Rams and Titans will battle out this weekend as they're both two of the best teams in football. The Rams are being cautious here and hope to get fully healthy soon.
