There is an old saying that says something about money can't make you happy only friends and experiences can. Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley who has a lot more money now after signing a $60 million extension is confused by that saying.

“Whoever said money don’t make you happy lied.”

Gurley signing the extension hasn't changed him as a player besides having to pay for a few more meals. Rams coach Sean McVay was asked if he has seen any changes in Gurley and McVay said if anything he actually thinks Gurley is working harder now. Via turfshowtimes.com

“I would say this, if anything he’s been working harder. I would imagine he’d be able to tell you better than I would. There’s probably some sense of relief knowing that he was able to earn that contract. But, by no means has he gotten complacent. He’s continued to work even harder. I think you guys – you’ve been out here – you can see the way he finishes those runs. It’s a positive problem when you have to tell your back in some of these move the ball, unscripted periods, ‘Hey, don’t finish all the way down the field because we need you back for the next snap.’ But, he’s been great.”

Even with Gurley signing the big extension he knows how good of a player he is and how good he needs to be for the Rams to reach their lofty goals this year. There is a real sense around the organization that this team can win the Super Bowl this year and for that to happen Gurley needs to have a special year.
