It goes without saying that the Los Angeles Rams have shelled out some serious cash this offseason. However, they made their most lucrative investment yet after agreeing to terms on a four-year, $60 million deal with $45 million guaranteed.
There is no doubt that Gurley is well-deserving of his new long-term contract. NFL Twitter posted his top 10 plays from the 2017 NFL season in case anyone needed a reminder why:

Gurley has come a long way since his tumultuous sophomore campaign during under former head coach Jeff Fisher. This time last year, there was still plenty of doubt surrounding his potential as a workhorse back. Needless to say, he answered any questions about his status as one of the elite running backs in the NFL last season.
Gurley's prowess as both a runner and receiver makes him one of the most dynamic playmakers in the entire league. Head coach Sean McVay took advantage of his versatile skill set to turn a lackluster unit into the NFL's highest-scoring offense.
He finished the year with 1,305 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground and 788 yards and six touchdowns through the air. As evidenced by the video, defenses had a rough time scheming around a player as electrifying as Gurley was last season.
That said, the Rams' star has been a strong proponent for other star running backs looking to secure a lucrative contract of their own. His record deal will only serve as the standard for workhorses like himself moving forward. More importantly, Los Angeles will get to keep one of its biggest stars through his prime.
