Heading into the 2018 season, there had been some high hopes for Miami Dolphins veteran wide receiver DeVante Parker to put together his breakout campaign.
However, it has been anything but that for Parker in a year that has been heavily impacted by injuries and lack of production. This is something that the 25-year-old acknowledged on Thursday, stating that it hasn't been what he had hoped that has seemingly put his long-term future with Miami up in the air, according to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post.

Parker is 25 and perhaps one day he’ll fulfill all his lofty promise in another uniform. It sure seems like this will be it for Parker in Miami. Two more games.
“I’m not really sure,” he said. “I’m just focused on this season, the end of the season. Whatever happens, happens.”
Parker had entered this season ready to take over the No. 1 receiving option role in the passing game following the departure of Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry. He hasn't put forth a strong effort to even make a case for that role as he has made 22 receptions for 296 receiving yards and one touchdown in nine games played.
Outside of his standout performance against the Houston Texans where he had six catches for 134 yards, there hasn't been any other outing that has come close to topping 100 receiving yards. Instead, he has notched fewer than 20 receiving yards in three out of the last four games, including not having one ball thrown his way against the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday.
What this indicates more than anything else is that his time in Miami may be coming to an end in the near future. Parker is currently under contract and his fifth-year option for the 2019 season is worth around $9.4 million. This situation should finally have a resolution in the offseason.
