Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen has officially been ruled out for his team's Week 10 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday due to a hamstring injury, per Bleacher Report.
Thielen missed the first game of his NFL career in Week 8 due to the issue. He returned during the Vikings' Week 9 tilt against the Kansas City Chiefs, but exited early after re-aggravating the injury.
This is obviously a devastating blow for Minnesota's aerial attack, as Thielen has logged 27 catches for 391 yards and six touchdowns on the season.
The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Minnesota State, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Vikings in 2014 and went on to tally just eight grabs for 137 yards and a score in a limited role during his rookie campaign.
Thielen posted similar numbers the following year, finishing with 12 catches for 144 yards.
It wasn't until Thielen's third season that the wide out broke out. That year, he caught 69 passes for 967 yards while reaching the end zone five times. He was even better in 2017, making his first Pro Bowl appearance after hauling in 91 receptions for 1,276 yards and four touchdowns.
Thielen proceeded to have the best season of his career last year, snaring 113 balls for 1,373 yards and nine scores en route to his second straight Pro Bowl appearance.
Clearly, Thielen is a significant part of a Vikings offense that has been rolling in recent weeks, so his absence will be felt in this pivotal showdown with the Cowboys.
Minnesota is 6-3 and just saw its four-game winning streak snapped by the Chiefs.
