Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen returned to practice on Thursday after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, according to Chris Tomasson of The St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Thielen initially hurt his hamstring back in Week 7 and sat out Week 8, marking the first time in his NFL career that he had missed a game. He returned in Week 9, but left the game early after aggravating the injury.

In the eight contests he has played this season, he has logged 27 catches for 391 yards and six touchdowns.

Thielen, who played his collegiate football at Minnesota State, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Vikings in 2014. He received only scarce playing time during his first couple of years with the club, but in 2016, Thielen broke out, catching 69 passes for 967 yards and five scores.

The 29-year-old then showed even more improvement in 2017, hauling in 91 receptions for 1,276 yards while reaching the end zone four times en route to a Pro Bowl appearance. He would proceed to have the best season of his career in 2018, snaring 113 balls for 1,373 yards and nine touchdowns, earning another Pro Bowl selection.

Obviously, Minnesota desperately needs Thielen back in the lineup, and the fact that he practiced on Thursday obviously bodes well moving forward.

The Vikings are 8-3 and are currently tied with the Green Bay Packers for first place in the NFC North, although the Packers currently hold the tiebreaker, as they beat the Vikes earlier in the season.

Minnesota will take on the Seattle Seahawks next Monday.
