It has just been revealed that Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook will be unavailable for his team on Sunday, as the Vikings face off against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6. According to reports, the 25-year-old has yet to recover from an adductor strain that he sustained in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks.
This report comes via Chad Graff of The Athletic:
Dalvin Cook isn’t expected to play this Sunday against the Falcons after suffering an adductor strain, according to a source. The Vikings have a bye next week, then will re-evaluate if Cook is ready to return after that.

Cook was seen limping off the field in the third quarter against the Seahawks, and he was quickly brought to the locker room by the team's medical staff. The 5-foot-10 RB was able to return for a brief stint, but was ultimately forced to sit out the remainder of the Vikings' 27-26 defeat against Seattle.
Cook underwent an MRI, which provided some initial hope that he would be available for Week 6 against the Falcons. However, as this new report states, the Vikings erring on the side of caution here, as they opt to sit out their star running back.
It is worth noting, however, that the Vikings are going to get a bye in Week 7, which might have also been a factor in the team's decision to have Cook sit out the Falcons game. This will give Cook more than two weeks of rest, which should only work well for his injury. Groin issues can be tricky, and more often than not, rest plays a key role in recovery.
The Vikings have had a poor start to the campaign, going 1-4 in their opening five matches. Needless to say, they would like to get Cook back as soon as possible.
