Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen missed the first game of his NFL career last week due to a hamstring injury. He made his return against the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday, but left the contest after re-aggravating it early on.

Now, the Vikings aren't sure what Thielen's timetable looks like:

“I’m not sure, honestly. Whenever the doctors say he’s ready, he’s ready,” said head coach Mike Zimmer, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

One thing is for sure: it looks like Thielen came back too quickly.

It should be noted that the Vikings don't have their bye until Week 12, which could mean that Thielen may sit out the next two games in order to get a full three weeks of rest.

Of course, that also doesn't bode well for Minnesota in its quest for the playoffs, as Thielen is one of its most important players, and with the Vikings sitting at 6-3 in a rugged NFC, nothing is guaranteed.

Minnesota lost to a Patrick Mahomes-less Chiefs squad this past weekend, and next Sunday, things won't get any easier, as the Vikings will have to head on the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys.

Minnesota will then return home to host the Denver Broncos in Week 11, and while the Broncos are not exactly a great football team, that is hardly an easy game.

On the season, Thielen has logged 27 catches for 391 yards and six touchdowns. The 29-year-old is coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances, and last year, he hauled in 113 receptions for 1,373 yards and nine scores.
