There is no question the Minnesota Vikings boast one of the most talented wide receiver duos in the NFL in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. It appears the latter is hoping to keep it this way for years to come.

Diggs is looking for a potential long-term contract extension. According to Ben Goessling of the Star-Tribune, he is hoping to get it done soon with the Vikings.

“I want to be here. I love being here,” he said. “I love being a part of this organization. They took a chance on me early. I love it here, as far as where we’re at. You’ve got to take it up with the right people. I haven’t spent too much time with it.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Diggs' comments. He had been largely overlooked coming out of Maryland and wound up slipping to Minnesota in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Needless to say, he has proven to be quite the steal for the Vikings and has already etched himself a solid in franchise lore.

Diggs finished the 2017 campaign with 64 catches for 849 yards and eight touchdowns. He capped it off with one of the most spectacular plays in league history with the “Minneapolis Miracle” and he continues to progress with each season. That said, a potential extension seems like a foregone conclusion at this point.

However, the question remains as to how much Minnesota will be willing to pay him. A receiver of Diggs' caliber is likely to command upwards of $10 million a year. The Vikings have made it clear they are willing to invest in the offense after the lucrative signing of quarterback Kirk Cousins this offseason. Only time will tell whether or not they can get a deal done before the start of the 2018 NFL season.
