New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is expected to play in his team's AFC East showdown with the Buffalo Bills on Saturday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Edelman is listed as questionable due to knee and shoulder issues, but it seems like he will take the field.

The veteran has not missed a game all season, but he appeared to be limited by his knee injury during the Patriots' win over the Cincinnati Bengals last week, as he logged a season-low two catches for nine yards on only five targets.

On the 2019 campaign overall, Edelman has hauled in 92 receptions for 1,019 yards and six touchdowns.

The 33-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Kent State as a quarterback, was originally selected by New England in the seventh round (232nd pick overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.

Due to the presence of a certain signal-caller named Tom Brady, the Pats moved Edelman to wide receiver, and in his first season, he caught 37 passes for 359 yards and a score.

Following limited production as a pass-catcher from 2010 through 2012, Edelman broke out in 2013, snaring 105 balls for 1,056 yards while reaching the end zone six times.

Since then, Edelman has been an integral piece of the Patriots' aerial attack. He did, however, miss all of 2017 as a result of a torn ACL.

New England is currently 11-3 and is aiming to lock down its 11th straight AFC East title. The Pats can clinch the division crown with a win over the 10-4 Bills this weekend.

The Patriots already beat the Bills in Buffalo earlier this season.
