New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was with the Patriots for “Deflategate,” a saga that alienated the Pats against Roger Goodell and the NFL.

Edelman thinks that New England's most recent controversy–which involves a team videographer illegally taping the Cincinnati Bengals sideline–is just as ridiculous in nature.

The veteran wideout called the incident a “joke” during an appearance with WEEI's “The Greg Hill Show on Thursday, echoing Tom Brady's sentiment that the players are not thinking about the potential fallout (via Henry McKenna of USA TODAY Sports):

“Yeah, that’s pretty much a joke,” Edelman said during a weekly radio show appearance with WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” on Thursday. “We haven’t even thought about it, honestly. We have been thinking about other things. It’s funny, but it is what it is. I don’t know, it’s ridiculous. My focus is on the Buffalo Bills.”

New England readily admitted the transgression but stated that the intent of the film was for a documentary series on advance scouts, rather than for strategic purposes. The team has since suspended the videographer in question.

Things have gotten even more interesting after a press box video of the conversation between the videographer, and a Bengals security officer was aired on national television on Sunday afternoon.

The NFL has yet to come to a definitive conclusive decision on their investigation, which was first reported on Dec. 9. Needless to say, Edelman and his Patriot teammates have no interest in having that conversation.

What else do you expect from a team whose motto is “Do Your Job.”
