This should make Jermaine Eluemunor happy: The New England Patriots are doing what they can to avoid too much turnover on their offense this offseason. It seems they have made efforts to shore top some depth to their offensive line.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Patriots will tender offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor at the original round level:

The Patriots are giving OL Jermaine Eluemunor the original round draft RFA tender, source said. That’s a fifth rounder tender from NE, who traded for him last year.

Eluemunor entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens prior to the 2017 NFL season. The Patriots then traded for him along with a sixth-round pick in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Eluemunor largely filled in as a backup on the offensive line while also making his bones one special teams. He saw the field for 67 snaps between both during the 2019 NFL season and the Patriots' decision indicates that still managed to make a solid impression on head coach Bill Belichick.

It is no secret that the offense will be a point of emphasis for New England in free agency and the draft following their disappointing outing last season. Of course, fortifying some quality depth up front is key for the protection of quarterback Tom Brady or any of the other options the Patriots are considering this offseason.

Teams will still have the option of taking Eluemunor off the Patriots' hands if they are willing to up the offer and part ways with a fifth-round pick.
