It is no secret that the heralded New England Patriots have dominated the AFC East over the last 20 years. However, this dominance might stretch into more areas than many may have initially thought. New England has perfected literally every facet of the game en route to winning what seems like title after title.

In fact, the Patriots have drafted nine more All-Pro players than both the rival Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins this century.

“It’s also been easy to attribute the Patriots’ AFC East dominance to the presence of quarterback Tom Brady (sixth-round pick in 2000) and Bill Belichick, the league’s longest-tenured head coach, but the ineptitude of their divisional foes has played a part, as well,” reads an article by Lindsay Jones of The Athletic. “While the Pats have drafted 10 All Pros, the Bills and Dolphins have drafted just one each since 2000.”

New England is coming off yet another Super Bowl title. The Patriots will notably enter the 2019 campaign as the reigning champions. With the Patriots most recently upending the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII, the heralded AFC East franchise has now won three of the last five and two of the last three Super Bowls. Over the course of the last two decades, the Patriots have won a total of six Super Bowls in nine appearances in all.

On the other hand, the Dolphins and Bills have continued to struggle despite occasionally reaching the postseason over the years. Unfortunately, the upcoming season probably won't be very different.
