Did you think the drama surrounding the Patriots and Texans had quieted down? Think again.

In the latest development, Greg Bedard of BostonSportsJournal.com reported, via MassLive.com, the Patriots are “livid” with former employee Jack Easterby, a guy who climbed the ladder a few rungs in New England before parlaying that into a real position of influence, now with the Texans.

The unhappiness stems from the manner in which Easterby left the Patriots, and from the attempt to hire away Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio.

Easterby started as the Patriots team chaplain before taking on additional roles with the team over his six years there. In 2018, he was the team development director/character coach. In April, Easterby was hired away by the Texans to become their new executive vice president of team development.

According to Bedard, many within the Patriots organization were upset when Easterby let it be known publically that the prostitution charges facing owner Robert Kraft “did not sit well” with him and played a big part in his decision to leave the team.

It may be hard to believe, but before this Eastery was very well liked.

The team originally brought him in following the Aaron Hernandez murder scandal as a presence in the locker room to help players off the field.

The Pats will get a chance to settle the scorewhen the team heads to Houston to take on the Texans in Week 13. The teams play on Sunday Night Football on Dec.  13.
