Tom Brady has officially announced that he will not be returning to the New England Patriots.

This means the superstar quarterback will have a new home for the first time in his career after spending 20 seasons in New England.

It also means the Patriots will have a new quarterback. Their Week 1 quarterback will be someone not named Brady for the first time since 2001, not counting the 2016 season when he was suspended to begin the year.

So, who will it be?

BetOnline.ag has released odds for who will be New England's new starting quarterback in Week 1 of the 2020 season:

Jarrett Stidham +170
Andy Dalton +325
Cam Newton +400
Jameis Winston +700
Derek Carr +900
Nick Foles +900
Jimmy Garoppolo +1400

Jarrett Stidham was the backup to Brady last season. He's the only one of that group on the current New England roster.

Andy Dalton is on the list because the Cincinnati Bengals are expected to take quarterback Joe Burrow first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, likely forcing Dalton out.

Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers are done with each other. This would give the Patriots a quarterback with Super Bowl experience on the radar.

Jameis Winston had a historic 2020 season by throwing for over 5,000 passing yards while also being the first quarterback ever to throw at least 30 touchdown passes and 30 interceptions in the same year. Perhaps there's effectively a Winston-Brady swap.

Derek Carr had a solid 2019 season with the Raiders, but Las Vegas doesn't seem totally sold and might also be in on Brady. Perhaps they swap places.

Nick Foles and the Jacksonville Jaguars did not work out in 2019 after he signed a hefty contract. Foles ended up being replaced by 2019 sixth-round pick Gardner Minshew after an injury, and again after he struggled on the field upon returning from the injury. The Patriots might be interested after Foles beat them in the Super Bowl a few years ago.

Jimmy Garoppolo was, of course, Brady's backup in New England before joining the San Francisco 49ers. While the 49ers were rumored to be interested in Brady at one point, it appears that's not the case anymore.

Bill Belichick and the Patriots surely have a plan in place now that Tom Brady is officially moving on, so we'll see who winds up taking the legendary quarterback's place.
