Court papers filed on Thursday revealed that prosecutors are dropping soliciting prostitution charges against New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft. This development comes after the prosecutors were barred from using surveillance video, which could have helped proved their case.

On Monday, the Florida prosecutors said that they would not appeal a state appeal court’s decision to block the videos allegedly showing Kraft paying to be sexually serviced at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa, a massage parlor in Jupiter, Florida. Since then, it was anticipated that the charges against him would be dropped, since these were believed to be the strongest pieces of evidence in the case.

The 79-year-old businessman was one of more than two dozen men who were charged with visiting the spa and another massage parlor in Florida in February 2019. However, the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal ruled last month that police violated the rights of Kraft and the other men when they secretly installed video cameras inside the massage rooms, leading to the court blocking the use of the surveillance videos at the trial.

Back in Jan. 2019, Jupiter police said that they recorded Kraft, who is a widower, paying to receive sex acts at the massage parlor on consecutive days. The Patriots team owner pleaded not guilty to the charge, but issued a public apology for his actions.

It is reported that Kraft s second visit to the massage parlor happened just hours before the New England Patriots defeated the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in the AFC Championship Game on their way to winning their sixth Super Bowl title.
